“SPINAL CANE” — A backbone made to hang.

SPINAL CANE is a sculptural ear weight inspired by the human vertebral column and the curved silhouette of an antique walking cane.

A sequence of skeletal vertebrae forms its elongated body, ending in a sharp tapered point. The upper section curves into an open hook, transforming the spine into a macabre walking cane designed to hang from a stretched lobe.

Once worn, SPINAL CANE follows the vertical line of the neck and moves freely with the body, making its weight, suspension and movement part of the design.

Handmade in Italy using the lost-wax casting process, every SPINAL CANE ear weight is individually cast, finished and patinated by hand. Small variations and marks are part of its artisanal nature: no two pieces are completely identical.

IMPORTANT

SPINAL CANE is designed for fully healed, already stretched lobes.

It is an ear weight, not a stretching tool, and should not be used to enlarge a piercing or worn in a fresh, irritated or unhealed lobe.

Ear weights concentrate pressure on one area of the lobe and should not be worn continuously or while sleeping, exercising, showering or swimming.

SYMBOLISM

The spine is the structure that keeps the body standing. The walking cane supports it when strength begins to fail.

SPINAL CANE merges these two forms into a single object: the support and what must be supported, strength and decay, balance and fragility.

BRONZE — A LIVING METAL

Bronze contains a high percentage of copper and naturally evolves with time. Contact with skin and moisture may gradually change its patina or leave a temporary green or blue mark.

This is not a defect, but a natural reaction of the metal. Bronze may not be suitable for people who are sensitive to copper alloys.

925 STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver may naturally darken over time. Its original brightness can be restored using a soft silver-polishing cloth, or the oxidation can be left untouched for a darker appearance.

• Avoid perfumes, chemicals, salt water and aggressive cleaning products
• Clean and dry the jewelry carefully after use
